5 reasons sleep is important to your bodybuilding routine. You’re not afraid of the dark are you?

I’m going to give you  my top 5 reasons for why sleep is important to both your diet and exercise as well as your overall health! These are my opionions based on the things that I have both read and experienced. Adequate amounts of sleep gives your brain and body the energy its needs to focus. Not to mention you decrease the need to take a nap in the middle of the day. You can’t perform your best if you’re not refreshed. Its IMPORTANT that you make sleeping a priority. Life tends to get in the way of a normal sleep schedule but if you really want to get the best results you need to sleep. Sleep time is a prime time for your body to repair and grow. Take advantage of that natural HGH (Human Growth Hormone) production by getting at least 8 hours of deep sleep. If you’re really worried about making gains in muscle or weight loss, having enough sleep is as important as your diet and your exercise.  You literally make progress when you’re getting enough sleep. Taking a moment to pat yourself on the back

IF you’re anything like me.. you have a tendency to criticise yourself over your performance. Be it how well you did in your workout, how much weight you lost, if you could have did this better or that.. or just something. Sometimes we do need that voice to push us to do more each time we go out to accomplish something but we sometimes lose that voice that should be congratulating us for the job we did do. When it comes to losing weight, its easy to get disappointed because you didn’t lose the 5lbs that you wanted to lose. But if you still lost something that day, week or month.. take a moment and enjoy that. You made progress. It wasn’t what you expected or what you thought you needed but you moved forward. Take that for what it is. A step forward. You did something, when you could have been doing absolutely nothing, you got a result (Even if its not THE result you wanted) and it was a positive one at that. INSPIRATION – World’s Oldest Female BodyBuilder Ernestine Shepherd

  I know ladies always worry about looking “bulky” or being muscle bound like She-Hulk (Even though she has a very attractive physique. In my opionion.) but you have to watch this inspiring video of Ernestine Shepherd. She didn’t start her fitness journey until she was 56 years old and now she has been awarded the title of the oldest competing female bodybuilder! This amazing woman is 74 years old is coming in at 130lbs and under 10% body fat. Insane! Ladies you gotta ask yourself some serious questions about what you’re willing to do to get into the best shape of your life. Ernestine proves its never too late to start working out. Even if competitive bodybuilding is not a goal, being healthy and having the body YOU want is all in your hands. You have to want that change, you have to be willing to take those steps to achieve the look and feel that you desire.
